OUR STORY:

TRANSFORMATION HAPPENS WHEN PEOPLE COME TOGETHER

Dr. Alton Gould, a Canadian Free Methodist Minister and missionary, founded International Childcare Ministries in 1966. Inspired by the life works of John Wesley, Dr. Gould answered the call to serve Jesus through teaching, evangelizing, and providing basic essentials to children living in poverty in Hong Kong.

Five decades and thousands of supporters and local partners later, Dr. Gould’s vision has been realized – “…a program whereby churches and Christians could together be involved in a greater compassionate ministry, reaching hundreds of suffering children around the world”. Through child sponsorships and community partnerships, more than 21,000 children in 30 countries have been helped.

In 1983 ICCM expanded to Canada and currently, Paula Moriarity is the Canadian ICCM Director. Passionate about the holistic support ICCM provides children, she is just as enthusiastic about seeing the impact each child has on their community by being a light for Jesus.

Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can.

CHILD SPONSORSHIP

ICCM’s child sponsorship program focuses on ensuring each child is nourished in all areas of his/her life. Your monthly donation of $40 equates to a child receiving food, clothing, school supplies, and medical check-ups year round. Additionally, each sponsored child is affiliated with a Free Methodist church in his/her region, which means each child also has the opportunity to learn Biblical truths, feeding spiritual hunger.

Most of all, your commitment provides hope. This hope combined with education, the truth about Jesus’ love and the understanding that someone cares enough to sponsor him/her transforms that child’s life, empowering the child to dream about the future. We have witnessed the dire situations of entire families change because of the hope sponsored children bring home.
