Success Stories

Dennis Indasi and Bonface Mwashi are brothers and orphans, with the later being the eldest. They came to join FM school at Kawangware in grade 5 in the year 2002. This happened when their grandmother who happened to live not far from the school decided to keep them after the death of their mother. Even though the two boys seemed to be a little bit older for the class, the Headteacher went ahead and gave them a chance after considering the story behind the challenges in their upbringing. Not even their biological father could be traced. When the meals were offered at the school, the teachers could offer them an additional plate just to be sure that evening was also taken care of, just in case!

On the year when they had just joined high school, their grandmother fell ill and passed away. Their uncle who lives at a distance has since been renting them a room where they have been living on their own as they continue with schooling. Both of them are now on their final year in High school and thankful to God always.

God has given the boys a singing talent and they have been using it for His glory. They are members of their praise and worship team, whenever the church holds youth meetings/camp, be sure to meet Dennis and Bonface at the stage doing their best for God and his people. Two weeks ago, Dennis came to our Child Care office to see me. With him he brought a copy of a CD with songs they had recorded at a studio for me to listen, comment or satify and if good, then i join them in prayers for funds to produce copies. I was left marveled at the Lords doing!

Probably one may wonder then what was or has been Child Cares role in all this? Glory be to God for the existance of FM school sponsored by ChildCare. Thanks for the feeding program in the school which is enabled majorly by ChildCare sponsorship funds. Thanks for the support from the Local church which partners with ChildCare to see to it that children are attended to spiritually in addition to regular school learning. Thanks for the sponsorship to Dennis and the scholarship to Bonface, this has given them a chance to be in class with other children. As Dennis and Bonface look forward to being through with High school come November this year, i want to believe that among other things on their reflection, will be thanking God for all the people He brought on their way for their support. And that will include ICCM! Glory be to God.

ginalynGinalyn Gabut has been a sponsored child at the Hope for Davao Street Children Ministry in the Philippines since 2003. She experienced many difficulties that some children only see on TV or computer screen. Her family lived on the street and for Ginalyn the street was her home and that’s where she grew up. ginalyn_combo
One tragedy after another struck Ginalyn and her family when her grand mother died and in following year her father also died. On top of all that her mother rejected her.
The unbearable pain prompted Ginalyn leave home and her mother and sought refuge in her pastor’s home/Hope Project Director which became her home until now. In her new home, Ginalyn experinced what it is to be accepted and loved, and after some time she entrusted her life to Jesus Christ. In time, Ginalyn became an active youth leader in the church. She also volunteered at the Hope Street Scholl and has been a godly influence on many street children like her.

Since last year Ginalyn has been eagerly teaching Christian values on a volunteer basis in one of the public high schools near to the church. She teaches high school students three times a week for an hour each time. Aside from teaching values education three hours each week, Ginalyn meets with her cell group every week and with every member. She has been guiding her cell members to faith in Christ. Last July (2010)we baptized 34 people and three of them were from Ginalyn’s cell group. How we thank God for using her. return to Sucess Stories
